FAQ

  • I don't have any designs or blueprints for my pool, do you offer that service?
We offer full design and engineering services for your pool project. We use a great 3D computer design system that helps clients digitally walk through their yards to see how ideas may work in the real world. Once we work through all the possible variations, we will arrive at a final design, which then gets converted to traditional 2D blueprint style drawings for permits and use by all trades.
  • How long does it take to build a pool ?
Nobody involved wants any delays in your project! The build time on a normal pool project it 6-8 weeks, sometimes faster if everything lines up just right. It is in our best interest to complete your build as quickly as construction best practices allow. You don't want trades working on top of each other and not allowing proper cure periods for concrete materials. Larger, more complex projects will take longer. A variable we cannot control is the permit process. Timelines vary widely in our region. Some county permits can be completed in a few hours, other city agencies take 6-8 weeks to approve. This does not include the requirements some areas have with the neighborhood Homeowners Associations. Lastly, there is the weather. Obviously, too much rain or too much heat can delay your project.
  • What kind of equipment does Atlantis Pools use and why?
After using all three major brands over the years, we have found that Pentair products are the most reliable, have the best support and have a wide array of products to suit every requirement. The folks at Pentair really invest their time and money back into research and development, which has brought our industry the variable speed DC powered pool pumps. These pumps use far less electricity and are much more quiet than the older style pumps. Combine these pumps with the better grade, two stage filters from Pentair and you have a pool that stays clean much longer. The Easy Touch wireless controllers are standard for Atlantis Pool projects. We also offer the Pentair "IntelliChem" system that works with the Saline Chlorination for a system that is truly automated and sanitary. We offer the durable Letro Platinum pool cleaner and new LED lighting that saves you energy and looks amazing at the same time. We have the years of experience to know that cheaper equipment just costs the client much more in electrical bills, breaks quickly and simply does not do the job. Quality Pentair equipment may cost slightly more, but saves money every day in the real world.
  • Does Atlantis Pools have in house staff or do they sub-contract out the work?
While in theory it sounds like a good idea to do everything "in house", in reality it is not possible to get the quality and expertise required by using the same teams for multiple trades. All of our subcontractors specialize in and are fully licensed, bonded and insured in their individual trades. We have worked seamlessly with them all for decades, and are like family. They are highly trained, extremely professional craftsmen that we would stake our reputation on.
